BAckground

Lack of energy through malnutrition and undernutrition has been the prime factor for not attending school. Many children pr.  family leave only a few attending school due to the cost, generally the most able attend.
The local school at Kizi established a school garden with vegetables (cabbage, eggplant, beans and banana). When the children started to get one meal a day at school (sorghum, beans and another vegetable), the number of children who attended school increased markedly. So we understood we should supplement growing food at the school.
There is some land at the school which can be utilized.

Goal

  • To improve the nutritional value of food supplied for all pupils at the school.
